Antoinette’s Cookery School – Terms & Conditions
For Themed Cooking, Private Group Cooking, Corporate Group Cooking, and Social Cooking Sessions
We’re delighted to welcome you to Antoinette’s Cookery School — where food, fun, and connection come together. To ensure every experience runs smoothly and safely, please take a moment to read through our Terms and Conditions.
Class Information
- Class content, pricing, and menus may change from time to time without prior notice.
- The organiser of any booking is responsible for ensuring all participants are aware of these Terms & Conditions and will be held liable for any damage or loss caused by their group.
- The duration of cooking sessions will be determined by the menu and number of participants (2–4 hours).
Class Times
- Evening classes: 18h00 (doors open 17h30)
- Day classes: 09h00 (doors open 08h30)
- Afternoon classes: 14h00 (doors open 13h30)
Corporate and private group bookings include up to 5 hours at the venue. Should the group remain longer, an additional venue fee of R1 000 per hour will apply after the fifth hour. This charge must be settled immediately.
Bookings & Payments
Confirmation of Bookings
- A booking is only confirmed once payment is received within 24 hours of the provisional reservation.
- Unpaid provisional bookings automatically lapse and may be offered to another client.
Group Bookings
- 50% deposit is required within 24 hours to secure the date.
- The balance is due 14 days before the event.
- If full payment is not received by the due date, the booking may be cancelled and the date released without notice.
Payment Methods
- Payments must be made via EFT or direct deposit.
- Proof of payment must be emailed to ensure correct allocation.
Changes to Dates, Times & Participant Numbers
- 14 days before the date of the event, no changes to the date, time, or participant numbers may be made.
- Reductions in participant numbers within 14 days do not qualify for refunds or discounts.
Postponements & Cancellations
- Because your booking reserves a specific date and time and removes that slot from our calendar, postponements are treated as cancellations in accordance with Section 17 of the Consumer Protection Act.
More than 14 days before the event
- The booking may be transferred to any available date within 6 months.
- 50% of the full booking fee is forfeited.
- The remaining 50% may be transferred to a new date within 6 months, subject to availability.
7 days or less before the event
- Due to the extremely limited likelihood of reselling the date, up to 100% of the booking fee will be forfeited.
- A new booking will require full payment.
Same‑day cancellation or failure to attend
- The full booking fee is forfeited.
Cancellations or rescheduling by Antoinette’s Cookery School of social classes booked by individuals
- Should Antoinette’s Cookery School cancel or postpone a class (e.g., due to minimum numbers not being met), an alternative date or full refund will be offered.
- We are not responsible for additional costs or losses resulting from such cancellations.
- Postponements requested by an individual, already booked and paid, for a social class, we will follow the same terms and time restraints as Postponements & Cancellations here above.
Participants
- Classes are fully hands‑on. For safety, all participants must always remain attentive and in control.
- Classes are designed for adults (16+). Younger guests may attend only with prior written approval and must be accompanied by a participating adult and at full payment.
- Infants, children, and non‑participating guests cannot be accommodated.
- Disorderly or disruptive behaviour may result in the class ending early without refund.
- The organiser is liable for any damages caused by their group.
- Our facilities are not wheelchair‑friendly.
Health, Safety & Comfort
- Classes involve gas stoves, knives, and hot surfaces. Please wear comfortable clothing and flat, closed shoes.
- Aprons, ingredients, and recipe booklets are provided. Aprons must be returned unless purchased.
- While we take every precaution, Antoinette’s Cookery School is not responsible for injuries, losses, or damage to personal belongings or vehicles.
Food, Drinks & Dietary Needs
- Homemade iced tea, percolator coffee, tea, and filtered water are provided.
- You may bring your own beer, cider, or soft drinks.
- Drinks may only be delivered one working day before the event by prior arrangement.
- No spirits are allowed on the premises.
- Participants may not consume alcohol before the class; anyone under the influence may be asked to leave.
- Individual ingredient substitutions are not possible.
- We are not a Halaal, gluten‑free, or nut‑free kitchen and cannot cater for severe allergies or coeliac diets. Vegetarian options are always included.
During & After the Class
- Classes focus on hands‑on learning, connection, and shared enjoyment.
- After cooking, guests sit down together to enjoy the meal they’ve created.
Photography & Marketing
- Photos taken during classes may be used for our social media and marketing (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Google, newsletters).
- Images will never be sold or misused.
- Recipes, notes, and class materials remain the property of Antoinette’s Cookery School and may not be copied or distributed.
- Occasional WhatsApp or email updates may be sent in compliance with the POPI Act. You may unsubscribe at any time.
Vouchers
- Vouchers are non‑transferable, not redeemable for cash, and cannot be combined with other offers.
- Valid for 12 months from date of issue.
- It is the voucher holder’s responsibility to check available classes and make a booking.
- Reselling of vouchers is not permitted.
By booking or attending a class at Antoinette’s Cookery School, all participants confirm that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions.
